I follow the old school of billing for time expended. It?s measurable and fair to the client and me.
The Minnesota Society of CPAs invited Ronald Baker to speak at our tax conference last fall. He titled his talks ?Burying the Billable Hour? and ?Trashing the Time-sheet? -- hogwash! Our ethics are there because the clients do not know enough to judge the quality of our work, so we judge ourselves. Value billing implies the same clients who can?t judge our quality can now judge the value. The only thing I can see to Support this sudden leap in their ability and knowledge is the biller?s rationalization of his greed. I am not against an honest profit, just excess profits. We are trusted advisers because our hands are in our own pockets. Keith Mattson, CPAs managing partner Mattson & Radziej Ltd Lakeville MN . The author does not allow comments to this entry
